B360 has been appointed to provide advisory services to the Kenya National Disaster Management Unit (NDMU). This includes providing Best Practice Security and Design procedures as they relate to Buildings and Institutions, Environment, Infrastructure and government installations, Energy and ICT installations; and ensuring inclusion of the standards into the comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

We are also be part of a team whose role is to mobilize resources and develop partnerships with the US government, US Organizations, Corporations and other potential global partners with the goal of increasing NDMU’s capacity, especially as they relate towards the construction of a Proposed Regional NDMU Training Centre.

The NDMU – National Disaster Management Unit – is an inter-agency organization of Government of Kenya that has been mandated to provide overall leadership, coordination, control and command in the management of emergencies and disasters in Kenya. NDMU supports incident command system (ICS) by managing incidents through objectives, both proactively and when they occur. NDMU focuses on a whole community approach by emphasizing 80% resources in disaster mitigation and preparedness while 20% on response and recovery.

NDMU seeks to engage like minded partners in the United States of America; these partners not only include individuals, government agencies, but also American private companies and friends that are willing to partner and support NDMU functions, vision, and mission. NDMU has and still is in the process of identifying more of these partners. The role of B360 will be:

  1. Following NDMU advice, work jointly work to mobilize resources to develop NDMU capacity.
  2. Following NDMU guidelines, advice on and facilitate the construction of a regional NDMU training Centre of excellence. The proposed center will be a place where not only Kenyans but also our counterparts from the East and Central African community can come for training on disaster mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery best practices. This will also including advising NDMU on Best Practice Security and Design procedures as they relate to Buildings and Institutions, Environment, Infrastructure and government installations, Energy and ICT installations; and ensuring inclusion of the standards into the comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  3. Following NDMU advice, identify professionals, firms, agencies and organizations based in the USA who will partner with NDMU to achieve NDMU goals.
